From September 25 to 27, 2026, Disiva presents MONUMENTAL VISION, an urban exhibition project featuring Medina Kasimova and Ariadna Canaan and bringing contemporary artistic research into the public space of Nashville through monumental digital displays.
For three days, the works of the two international artists will move beyond the conventional boundaries of galleries and museums to become part of Nashville’s urban landscape, creating a direct encounter between contemporary art, architecture, technology and the everyday rhythms of the city.
TWO ARTISTS, TWO VISIONS
Monumental Vision brings together two distinct multidisciplinary practices united by an ongoing exploration of materiality, image and technology.
Medina Kasimova, known professionally as Medina, is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans oil painting, sculpture, stained glass, mosaics and digital media. Her work explores resilience, vulnerability and renewal through layered surfaces, colour and the transformation of materials.
Moving fluidly between physical and digital environments, Medina extends her research into digital installations and metaverse projects, connecting tangible artworks with moving images and public space. Her practice has been presented internationally, including a solo exhibition at the Multimedia Art Museum in Moscow, digital installations in Baku during COP29 and presentations in Times Square, Miami and Hong Kong. In 2026, her digital work Flowers for Mothers was first presented at the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.
Ariadna Canaan is an international multidisciplinary artist whose practice combines innovative artistic processes and emerging technologies with traditional techniques.
Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and having lived and worked across different international contexts, Canaan has developed a practice encompassing visual art, contemporary photography, multimedia installations and digital experimentation. Her research increasingly incorporates technology as both a medium and a conceptual tool, creating connections between physical and digital modes of artistic expression.
Her work has been presented internationally across museums and galleries in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia. She holds a Master's degree in Contemporary Photography, Theory and Projects from PhotoEspaña and is a recipient of the National Award for Visual Arts in the Dominican Republic.
THE CITY AS EXHIBITION SPACE
At the centre of Monumental Vision is a simple shift in perspective: what happens when an artwork leaves the traditional exhibition space and enters the city at architectural scale?
The urban screen becomes more than a medium for displaying an image. It becomes part of the artwork's context.
Scale transforms perception. Images interact with buildings, light, traffic and movement, while viewers encounter the works unexpectedly as part of their everyday experience of Nashville.
Rather than asking audiences to enter a dedicated cultural venue, Monumental Vision brings contemporary artistic research directly into the shared environment of the city.
The street becomes the exhibition space.
The screen becomes a contemporary monument.
MONUMENTAL VISION
The title reflects the central concept of the project: scale as a means of transforming perception.
When an artwork reaches architectural dimensions, its relationship with the viewer changes. The image is no longer contained within an exhibition environment but becomes temporarily embedded within the visual identity of the city itself.
Through the practices of Medina Kasimova and Ariadna Canaan, Monumental Vision explores the increasingly fluid boundaries between physical and digital experience, traditional artistic processes and technological experimentation, private contemplation and public space.
Two individual artistic languages are amplified through a shared urban platform, creating a temporary visual intervention within Nashville.
