Angela Nikolau is a multidisciplinary artist working across extreme performance, photography, painting and digital media. Known for her images and performances on the rooftops of skyscrapers, she approaches the city as both a subject and a setting for artistic expression.
Her training in rhythmic gymnastics and her studies at the Russian State Specialized Academy of Arts inform a practice that combines physical discipline with visual storytelling. In her paintings, the experience of climbing becomes a source of vivid light, unexpected viewpoints and symbolic imagery.
Nikolau also creates digital artworks from her photographic practice. Her work has been presented through platforms including SuperRare and Nifty Gateway. Alongside Ivan Beerkus, she is the subject of the documentary Skywalkers: A Love Story, released on Netflix in 2024.
