Christelle Havranek is Chief Curator at Kunsthalle Praha, where she has been shaping the artistic programme since its inception. She has curated major exhibitions, including thematic projects such as Kinetismus: 100 Years of Electricity in Art, as well as solo exhibitions by William Kentridge and Annette Messager.
Her curatorial practice is research-driven and developed in close dialogue with artists. It spans a wide range of formats, from exhibitions and performances to moving images, immersive installations and audiovisual environments. She is particularly interested in bringing new perspectives to art and its histories, questioning established narratives and highlighting overlooked artistic practices. Her work frequently explores questions of identity, memory and the relationship between artistic expression, technology and social transformations.
Before joining Kunsthalle Praha, she was Curator and Head of Programmes at the French Institute in Prague, where she fostered artistic and cultural exchanges between France and Central Europe.
She also teaches curatorial studies at Anglo-American University in Prague and has contributed to numerous publications.
